(Limited Area) Standards of Practice

Scope of Inspection 

• The inspection is limited to a specific area identified by the client or inspector. 

• No assessment of the entire building—only the designated area is examined. 

• Moisture intrusion, water damage, and mold growth in other areas may not be inspected. 

Inspection Process 

• Conduct a visual examination of the designated area for signs of mold. 

• Use moisture meters and thermal imaging to detect hidden moisture sources. 

• Perform air and surface sampling if necessary, following industry standards. 

Health & Safety Measures 

• Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to ensure safety. 

• Establish containment barriers if mold is actively growing. 

• Follow ANSI/IICRC S520-2015 guidelines for mold assessment. 

Reporting & Documentation 

• Provide a detailed report of findings, including photos and recommendations. 

• Document sampling results and remediation recommendations. 

• Clearly state limitations of the inspection to avoid misinterpretation.
